During 1954 "Northeast frontier agency" was established which includes present day areas of Arunachal pradesh, later in 1972 it gain union territory status and become full-fledged state in 1987


Earlier before independence "Shimla Accord" was signed between British, China and Tibet in 1914, based on this McMahon line was decided as border line between China and territories of British India, in present times this borderline is under dispute due to change of stance of china after 1960's.


In present day Arunachal Pradesh border Indian states of Assam and Nagaland also share international borders with Bhutan, Myanmar and China

  1. It is India's land of rising sun & easternmost state of India where Dong Village is the easternmost village

  2. Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh

Major concerns

  1. Unequal development among regions

  2. Connectivity issues like not all towns have all weather roads

  3. It is in the near bottom of HDI among Indian states

  4. Less access to employment opportunities

  5. Inadequate healthcare facilities

  6. Less psychological connect with mainland of India & slow growth in patriotic mindset


Measures can be taken

  1. Arunachal Pradesh has less population density so private players will be less interested in doing investments in sectors of health and education, bringing quality education and health through central sponsored initiatives as well as state initiative will help to improve HDI

  2. Scenic nature of this state have potential on tourism sector, central and state initiatives to build all weather roads will attract consistent tourism revenue

  3. Leasing land to private initiatives in effective cost (Ex: In the scale of 50years) & promoting theme based adventure games will help to create new business opportunities & new employment opportunities

  4. Promotion of terrace farming will yield high productive yield

  5. Trust and Confidence building measures by central government with local people will help to imbibe patriotic mindset

  6. Promoting North East products as premium & luxury products in other parts of Indian mainland market & Global market will generate additional revenue

  7. Fixing minimal cost for air-travel from other parts of Indian mainland to north-eastern states will increase tourism migration and will give a boost in revenue through increased local spending of tourists in northeastern states.
