Our Constitution came to force on 26th January 1950 but some provisions relating to citizenship, elections, provisional parliament and temporary provisions came to force on the date constitution was adopted that was on 26th November 1949.
Earlier, during 1928 in all parties conference in Lucknow, a committee was convened to prepare Constitution of India, which was known as Nehru report
