"The Evolution of India's National Anthem: A Brief History, Facts, and Provisions"

"Bharoto Bhagyo bidhata" was the song originally composed by "Rabindranath Tagore" in Bangla language, first stanza of this song in Hindi version "Jana Gana Mana" was later adopted as National Anthem by our constituent assembly on 24th January 1950.

Some interesting facts about our national anthem

  1. The complete official version must be sung in 52 seconds by law

  2. Shorter version consists of first & last para and takes up to 20 seconds

  3. Composed in raga "Alhaiya Bilawal" and set to "Keharava Taal"

  4. During independence struggle, first version was sung by Rabindranath Tagore during convention of INC 1911 in Calcutta.

  5. In 1942, for the first time our national anthem was only performed not sung in Hamburg

  6. Subhash Chandra Bose authorized free translation from Bangla to Hindustani form (Hindi & Urdu form), translation was done by INA captain Abid Ali
